• Ratios: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry
• Ratio: 1:3 PCU

  • Unit Information: Medical Oncology with progressive care beds/pediatric patients
  • High acuity of PCU and ICU. Candidates with PCU/ICU experience preferred
  • May float to Med/Surg
    • Job Requirements
    • High acuity PCU patient experience
    • Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
    • 2 years of oncology experience preferred
    • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
    • Previous travel experience preferred
    • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
    • Use of rapid response teams
    • Feeding tube care and management
    • Accessing Ports
    • Blood Product Administration
    • Central line care/management
    • Peripheral Line Care/Management
    • PICC line management
    • Starting IVs
    • Heparin Protocols
    • Manage Cardia drips- no titration
    • PCA
    • Titrate Cardiac drips
    • Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac
    • External CPAP/BIPAP
    • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
    • Interpretation of ABGs
    • Nasal Cannula
    • Tracheostomy Management
      • Schedule Information
      • No set schedule, no set weekends, no block schedule
      • Facility determines the complete schedule
      • Possibility of working every weekend
      • Must be flexible
      • Maximum 7 straight days off
      • 14-week contract required if taking 7 days off
        • Unit Specific Information
        • 18J is a 36 bed Oncology Telemetry unit
        • Over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care
        • Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare
